Abstract: There are many methods for measuring interfacial tension, but the most concerned is the rotating drop method. The SVT20 rotating drop interfacial tensiometer is a new type of instrument imported from Germany to measure interfacial tension. It is easy to use and simple to operate. However, due to many influencing factors in the process of measuring interfacial tension, it is not well applied. From the aspects of rotation speed, droplet volume and light source brightness selection, the influence and elimination of bubbles, an experiment was conducted on how to accurately measure the interfacial tension using the SVT20 rotating drop interfacial tension meter. The experimental results show that the measurement speed of the interfacial tension is from 5 000 to 8 000 r / min and the volume of the injected droplet is from 0.3 to 0.8 μl. The measurement results are accurate. Theoretically, the oil displacement agent with lower interfacial tension should have better oil displacement effect. The interfacial tension of some surfactants was measured indoors, and the corresponding core displacement test was done. The test results are consistent with the theory.
