Banner Vision Sensor Detects Special Colors

The new PresencePLUS device from Banner Engineering features quick setup and ease of use
Banner Engineering has introduced an easy-to-use color vision sensor with two form factors that can be widely used in the manufacturing, processing, and packaging industries. The buyer can choose between a one-piece PresencePLUS P4 OMNI Color or a two-piece PresencePLUS ProColor with a compact camera and a controller that can be mounted separately on the DIN. An IP-68 rated camera with ProColor configuration is available for harsh environments.

This sensor detects infinite color changes in its field of view to determine if there is a specific color learned from its integrated color matching teach-in tool. Its functions include determining if there is a feature, verifying the integrity of the component, counting characteristics, and color matching. This new sensor is suitable for thousands of color measurement applications in food production and general packaging, pharmaceuticals, electronics/automotive and many other industries. Typical uses include automotive fuse verification, tablet color matching, proper LED placement, and color consistency monitoring.

Like all Banner vision sensors, color vision sensors also use proprietary, intuitive software to facilitate initial setup. It can be easily operated and reconfigured without being connected to a PC. The graphical user interface can be in any of the following nine languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, or Traditional Chinese.

With a 720 x 480 CMOS imager, the sensor can detect up to 900 parts per minute. It also includes a direct connection to Ethernet/IP and Modbus/TCP industry-standard network protocols, along with ActiveX utilities to export inspections, images, and results. All previous PresencePLUS models have grayscale detection tools included: Locate, Geometric Find/Count, Pattern Find/Count, Edge, Object, Blob, Average Grayscale, and Measure. A variety of light sources and lens options are available.
