According to the Stokes formula, the sedimentation time of suspended particles in water is related to its particle size at a certain temperature. By setting the settling time of the suspended particles in the water, the particles of different particle sizes can be automatically extracted. The structure of the instrument is shown in Figure 1.

2. Turn on the debugged instrument power switch, place the pre-treated sediment sample into the high-profile beaker, press the start button, add the water timer to open the water inlet solenoid valve, and fill the water-filled latex tube to fill the high-profile beaker. Purified water (the amount of water is controlled by the watering timer), and the water inlet solenoid valve is closed. Turn on the air compressor, stir the timer to open the lifting cylinder, drive the stirring rod up and down to stir until the sediment and water are evenly mixed (controlled by the mixing timer), and the stirring rod lifts off the water surface. The sedimentation timer starts to count, and after 4-8 hours, the precipitation is completed. The water absorption timer opens the diaphragm vacuum pump, and a 5 cm deep water sample containing a certain particle size is extracted from the high-type beaker through the effluent latex tube, and stored in a large beaker for storage. . The watering timer opens the water inlet solenoid valve, and the water inlet latex tube fills the high-type beaker with pure water. This cycle is continued until the 5 cm deep water sample in the high beaker becomes clear. Turn off the power and turn off the instrument.

3. This instrument replaces the manual manual extraction of a certain particle size deposition particle experiment, saving a lot of time for geoscience researchers.
