The factors affecting the separation effect of the centrifuge mainly include two aspects, one is a design parameter that cannot be changed; the other is an operational parameter that can be changed. There are three main design parameters that cannot be changed:

(1) The diameter of the sedimentation drum and the filter drum: the diameter of the drum determines the production capacity of the centrifuge, and as the diameter of the drum increases, the amount of the treated suspension of the centrifuge also increases;

(2) The conical angle of the sedimentation drum and the centrifugal drum. Under the action of the centrifugal force, the crystal body hits the inner wall of the drum, and under the action of the screw ejector, the solid particles have a tendency to move backward, so the crystal The speed at which the particles are separated is closely related to the taper angle of the drum;

(3) The ratio of the diameter to the length of the centrifugal drum and the settling drum: the longer the aspect ratio, the longer the suspension stays in the centrifuge, and the flow rate of the suspension inside the centrifuge is determined. In this paper, the influence of the cone angle of the drum on the incident velocity of the spiral channel slurry is explored. The CFD commercial simulation software Fluent is used to simulate the pulp velocity inside the drum channel.

The operational factors that can be changed mainly include the following four aspects:

(1) Speed of sedimentation drum: The greater the speed of the sedimentation drum, the larger the volume of the unit treatment suspension, and the increase of centrifugal force will also promote the centrifugal effect. However, if the critical speed of the drum is exceeded, the separation effect will not increase significantly, but at this time, the energy consumption of the equipment does increase substantially. The speed of the drum is mainly controlled by a variable frequency motor. By adjusting the input frequency of the motor, the speed can be adjusted.

(2) The speed of the differential speed determines the speed of the screw ejector. The magnitude of the differential speed directly affects the separation effect and processing capacity of the suspension. Assuming a constant feed, a large differential speed means that the path required to remove the crystals from the centrifuge will increase, but this will increase the speed of the spiral discharge. As a result, the time for the solid crystal to stay in the drum is less, which further leads to a decrease in the dryness of the crystal and affects the effect of solid-liquid separation.

(3) Depth of liquid layer: The adjustment of the thickness of the liquid layer of the centrifuge will have an important influence on the separation effect of the suspension, and also determine the residence time of the separated liquid in the drum, so if the thickness of the liquid layer is greater, Large, the longer the residence time of the slurry in the sedimentation drum, the better the separation effect; but as the thickness of the suspension layer increases, the excess liquid will be removed from the slag discharge port, which will reduce the separation. Dryness. On the other hand, the type of slurry liquid layer will also have an important impact on the separation efficiency. Liquid layers of different specifications must be installed at the same height of the centrifuge, otherwise the centrifugal force generated by the centrifuge will be uneven. seperate effect.
