Sun Chemical recently launched a Project 37 UV inkjet printer designed for optical disc printing. The printer can print short runs more efficiently and print all the desired patterns on the disc. This printer was developed by Sun Chemical in cooperation with Copytrax Technologies. It is understood that Copytrax Technologies is a company specializing in the production of printing and coating equipment for the CD and DVD markets. The Project 37 printer is controlled by professional software and has an inkjet array consisting of 24 Xaar Omnidot 318 piezoelectric on-demand multi-pulse grayscale printheads, thus ensuring high-quality image output. Sun Chemicals claims that Project 37 can use a special UV-curable ink to print the disc within 3 seconds. It can be said that the Project 37 printer brings high-quality digital printing solutions to the field of optical disc production.
