High-tech toys: programmable robot MiP that will balance itself
The MiP also comes with a tray that holds the tray on its arm and still maintains balance, and the MiP can even withstand the weight of another robot. If you connect multiple MiPs together, they will enter the group dance mode.
The MiP is a petite robot with a black and white color, a round head and a symbolic eye. It is similar to Eva in the Disney cartoon "Walley". The MiP is about 7 inches (about 17.8 cm) long and has no feet. The chassis has only two large round wheels. The MiP's torso includes a mode light and two small broken arms.
MiP is small, has short arms and no legs, but has a lot of interesting techniques. MiP is the result of a joint development between WowWee and the University of California, San Diego, the Coordinated Robotics Lab.
First, without human intervention, the MiP can be balanced or moved very well with two wheels. Push the MiP and it will stand up straight. Two rounds of movement make MiP more maneuverable, but while MiP can balance itself, first you have to let it stand up first. In addition, users can connect the MiP to the mobile phone application via Bluetooth. When the app is opened, the MiP ID will be displayed on the phone screen.
The MiP also features sound, gesture and obstacle sensors that respond to clapping sounds and a range of gestures. MiP can move with people's gestures, and MiP will make a sound every time you move.
There are 7 modes in the MiP. The mode is replaced by rotating the bottom two wheels. The mode light on the chest will change the color according to different modes. These 7 modes are: Stack, which can place items on the MiP tray. Track, MiP will follow you back and forth; Dance, Roam, Cage (cage, hand or obstacle blocking MiP's way), and Tricks gesture-driven programming mode.
WowWee has launched free iOS and Google Play apps that connect to MiP. When the user connects to the MiP via a smartphone, the indicator color on the front of the MiP is green. The user can also draw a route on the screen of the mobile phone, and the MiP will simultaneously follow the route drawn on the screen of the mobile phone.
The MiP will be available for sale at Best Buy in May this year for $99.99.
