Functional principle: Unlike air piston pipettes, the piston of an external piston pipette directly contacts the pipette. The piston can completely clean the inner wall of the tip / capillary-theoretically it can be seen until the last drop of liquid leaves the tip. The principle guarantees repeatable results, regardless of the physical properties of the liquid. It is not necessary to replace the tip or capillary after each operation, because in most applications a very small amount of residue is negligible. But if contamination is never allowed, such as infectious or radioactive reagents, an air piston pipette plus a disposable tip may be a better choice.
Advantages: the highest precision and fast operation. Tips or capillaries are reusable. No need to read the meniscus. Operation (similar to air piston pipette)
1. Range setting: rotate the range setting button to select the desired range
2. Aspirate the reagent: press the piston to the end. Immerse the tip in the reagent to slowly restore the piston, and the reagent will be sucked out.
3. Discharge the reagent: place the capillary / tip against the wall of the receiving container and press the pipetting button all the way again. The external piston pipette has no blow-out function!
