These are the most frequently mentioned projects, but I think there is one of the most affordable skills. Every student is probably familiar with it, but few people will mention it. In fact, whether it is renting a student apartment or renting a furnished house, generally only the most basic equipment is provided in the residence within the student's payment range: a bed, a wardrobe and a set of tables and chairs. To make living convenient, each residence has a lot of space to fill it yourself. When I first arrived in the UK, the most diligent thing to visit was the warehouse store Agos and the IKEA chain. I bought all kinds of light furniture: table lamps, bookshelves, folding wardrobes, small tables that can be used as chairs and bedside tables. Wait. Both stores sell small-sized furniture that they assemble. For a student, this means that the price is cheap and easy to carry when moving.

I remember the third day in the UK. In the country, I probably didn’t even nail the nails. I took the hammer and built the first piece of furniture in the house with ABC in the assembled instructions: a three-story small bookcase. . After a while, um, look, if you throw the nail that pierces the corner from the corner because of the nail empty, and then ignore the wooden board that has the lacquer and rough surface, it is a masterpiece of woodworking! Especially when I turned around and found a band-aid from the domestic box, and fixed the nail head that was highlighted, even this safety hazard was solved!

At that time, I had a sense of accomplishment, but now I think about it. Compared with the countless pieces of furniture I assembled in the UK, this small bookcase is clearly a small dish: in many weekends, I put rock music, sipping a little beer, and jingling. In the afternoon, from the craftsman's hand, the bed, sofa, cabinet, writing desk, kitchen utility vehicle, stretchable dining table, TV cabinet, breakfast table, and two large wardrobes were produced!

It is said that practice makes perfect, but I still hate assembling drawers most now, not only because the drawer has four sides and one bottom plus a handle, but also accurately positions the push-pull rails on both sides, which is particularly cumbersome. However, in addition to the ability to assemble the drawers, I also figured out the connection between the drawer and the home: when I first arrived in the UK, there was no drawer in the room, because the storage items and shelves were the first to have thick line storage. Furniture. Later, I moved. Although the wardrobe provided by the landlord has two drawers, I still don’t have a piece of furniture with drawers. I prefer to buy boxes and hanging storage boxes of various sizes and materials, and those that are easy to disassemble and carry. Various things collected on weekdays. With the integration into the local life and rhythm, I began to hope that the room is no longer a simple warehouse, but can plan to store the trivial details of life. Unconsciously, I began to assemble a variety of furniture with drawers: file cabinets, chest of drawers and so on.

It seems that the more you stay in school, the more you have the drawers you have. Inquiries about other international students from various countries have not been noticed, but they are quite similar when they think about it. I don't know if these experiences can be used to get a "drawer index", but I am very happy with this "discovery". With any regular or messy drawers, the objects we intentionally or unintentionally put in accumulate our joy, sadness or secret in this country.
